Hanzo 40 is a floating timber stickbait, with a striking S swim style, action and fish catching ability of the larger Hanzo 120. It was the natural progression to design and tune a flats sized model for the range.
Hanzo 40 development
The journey of the Hanzo 40 came through many sessions of fine tuning. Design process and shapes tweaked and trialed, weight balances shifted and settled once the action was perfect for the small sized stickbait.
The result was a stickbait that is easy to work, has application across many areas and fisheries and holds it’s own with quality catches in all arenas.
While a flats lure can be perfect for tropical flats fishing, often not applicable for casting at open water pelagics.
The Hanzo 40 works for both environments, cool temperature areas and tropical reef areas. At home and reliable for casting at Yellowtail Kingfish or a Southern Blue Fin Tuna feed in the southern half of Australia, yet still be able to dominate the reef flats and edges of the tropics. Minor colour changes were made to the attention grabbing colourways of the larger Angry Panda Lures Hanzo 120. Subtle shade and variation changes that are perfect and true form on the smaller lure body of the 40g Hanzo are the result. Fish climb over each other to eat these. During testing, GTs and large reef thugs were drawn well clear of the reef edges to chase down a Hanzo 40. The lure outfished many other known brands in the same pricing levels. Kingfish milling near the surface on glass calm days in Southern Australia were fooled into eating, the finely tuned colour designs and appropriate foil designs for the lure size hit the mark on this unique stickbait.
